Potamos Beach is Epanomi’s most famous spot — wide, sandy, and full of life. Keep walking and you’ll reach the iconic shipwreck and the Nose of Epanomi. Behind the beach lies the protected Natura wetland. It’s perfect for paddleboarding, biking, or simply watching the sunrise over Halkidiki.
2. Chill and Eat at Potamos Beach Bars
Potamos is lined with beach bars that cater to every taste – from quiet family spots to upbeat ones with music and events.
Stop by the beach kiosk for supplies or enjoy fresh seafood in the nearby tavernas. Learn more about local flavors. In summer, shuttle buses run between Epanomi village and the beach.
3. Stroll Through Epanomi’s Center and Park
The central park in Epanomi is a vibrant area full of tavernas, bars, ouzeris, and street food. Don’t miss the signature burgers, and check out the local fish market for the day’s fresh catch. Ask the locals about “Taliani fish”!
Every Wednesday, there’s a lively farmers’ market with fresh produce from local growers.
4. Pick Up Fresh Local Products
Along the road to Potamos and in the village itself, you’ll find stalls selling seasonal fruit, vegetables, and homemade goods. A true taste of rural Greek life!
5. Visit Domaine Gerovassiliou
One of Greece’s most renowned wineries, Domaine Gerovassiliou offers tastings, vineyard tours, and a fantastic Wine Museum. You’ll also find other smaller, local wineries to explore.
6. Visit the Kritzianon Monastery
The peaceful Kritzianon Monastery is a historical site surrounded by nature. It’s ideal for moments of reflection or a serene cultural visit.
7. Explore the Coastal Settlement
The coastal area of Epanomi is home to traditional tavernas and cocktail bars right by the sea.

For an elevated view, climb the rocks and follow the path toward Agnanti – perfect for sunset watching.
8. Experience Religious Traditions
On May 11, the village celebrates its patron saint, Agios Argyrios, with a big local festival. In the village center, the old stone church of Panagia holds cultural and religious events. You can also visit the seaside chapel of Agia Marina or the little church of the Transfiguration of Christ, located in the former EOT campground — a beautiful spot for weddings or baptisms.
9. Walk Through the Old EOT Campground
Though no longer operational, the former EOT campsite stretches along the coast and is rich in trees and nature. It’s perfect for a peaceful stroll or nature photography.
10. Stay in Palioura & Watch the Sunset
Located between Epanomi and Nea Michaniona, the seaside settlement of Palioura offers affordable accommodations, beach bars like Amirnes, and shaded areas ideal for picnics. The sunsets here are absolutely breathtaking.
